Now travelling to India became more easy for International travellers. On 26 February 2016, Indian Government extended the e-Tourist Visa scheme for 37 more countries. In this scheme visitors can apply for a visa from their homes and receive it within 72 hours and then they can easily travel to India.

What is e-Visa?

E-Visa or E-TV is a scheme in which an applicant gets visa on email after applying online, which authorizes him or her to travel to India. On arrival on any of the 16 Indian airports, the visitor has to show the printout of the authorization to the authorities. Government of India has launched this scheme on 27th November 2014. Now the total number of these countries will become 150 by extending this service to 37 more countries.

Things to Remember:

1. This facility can be used only twice per year.
2. The validity of visa will be 30 days from the date of arrival in India.
3. The maximum acceptable fee for this visa is USD 60.
4. e-Visa is valid for entry through 16 designated Airports i.e. Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum & Varanasi. However, the foreigner can take exit from any of the authorized Immigration Check Posts (ICPs) in India.
5. Applicant should carry a copy of e-TV along with him/her at the time of travel.
6. Visitors have to apply online at least four days before leaving for India.
