D’souza Chawl of Mahim, Mumbai

In addition to Mumbai’s night life and modern and filmy culture, it is also known for its haunted places. One of them is D’souza Chawl of Mahim. 

D’Souza Chawl is located near Canossa Primary School in Mahim, Mumbai. This chawl is called haunted because of one well situated in it. With the help of this well people used to fill water and wash clothes. In past time, the well was little risky as it did not have any boundary walls around it. And because of this risky structure of well, a lady died after falling in to the well while she was filling water through it. 

After this unpleasant incident, many people have seen the hallucination of this lady, which they called the ghost of the unfortunate woman, in the vicinity of the well during the nights. It is said that the ghost of that lady roams around the chawl every night. This has been reported multiple times. The lady around the well did not harm anyone but the residents of the Chawl are advised to keep away from the well especially during the nights.
